My teaching career began in France in the 1990s. When I moved back to Britain with two young children I was anxious for them to retain their French language skills. I sought out a language school but had little success so decided to approach my daughter’s day nursery with the offer of a few hours of French lessons each week. The sessions were a great success, lots of fun for all involved, and so Fun French Ltd was born.
Since the early days demand for Fun French Ltd lessons has grown and like-minded tutors have joined me in my quest to deliver fun and innovative classes to children and adults of all ages. Although our individual styles may differ slightly we all share the same enthusiasm for our subject and the same desire to make MFL learning a truly enjoyable experience.
So whether you are looking for lessons for your child, school or nursery, or for yourself or your business, contact Fun French Ltd and we will do our best to meet your requirements.
The National Curriculum: Since September 2014 changes to the national curriculum have made foreign languages compulsory across key stage two. The Department for Education states that teaching “should focus on enabling pupils to make substantial progress in the foreign language”
Do You Have Necessary Skills? The new curriculum focuses on teaching pupils to speak with increasing confidence, fluency and accuracy. It also places emphasis on grammar and written language.
Our Staff Training Programmes Our staff training programmes have been designed to develop the expertise of primary teachers of all ability levels. Staff will be equipped with the knowledge they need to produce high quality language schemes following the directives of the Department for Education statutory guidance document published 11th September 2013. Our short half day session includes tips on how to exploit the many resources available on the market and demonstrations of language learning games that have proved effective and popular with pupils over the years. Our thirty hour training course, delivered over a fifteen week period, will show you how to develop existing teaching resources to incorporate the different elements of the new curriculum. This programme has been produced to include language tuition in a choice of French or Spanish.
